タット・イトウTat Ito

タット・イトウは愛知県名古屋市生まれ、現在は東京を拠点に活動しているアーティストです。
物語や感情を伝える手段としての芸術の役割に魅了され、古代エジプトの壁画、キリスト教の写本やイスラム教のミニアチュール、東洋の絵巻物や屏風、日本の漫画など、古今東西の様々な芸術文化を自身の作品に反映させています。
絵画を通じて人間の経験と認識の重層的な性質を探求し、現実と想像が交錯する世界を描き、鑑賞者を超現実的な風景と夢のようなシナリオへと誘います。日常生活の中で見つけた様々な断片を記録し、それらを理解し、部分的に存在するものとしないものの断片間の新たなつながりを見つけることが、イトウの制作を通しての目標です。

Tat Ito was born in Nagoya, Aichi, and currently lives and works in Tokyo.
Fascinated by the role of art as a means to convey stories and emotions, Ito incorporates various artistic cultures from around the world into his works, drawing inspiration from sources as diverse as ancient Egyptian murals, Christian manuscripts, Islamic miniatures, traditional Asian scrolls, and Japanese manga.
Through his paintings, he explores the multilayered nature of human experience and perception, depicting a world where reality and imagination intersect, inviting the viewer into surreal landscapes and dreamlike scenarios. Ito's goal through his work is to document the various fragments found in everyday life, to make sense of them, and to find new connections between the fragments of the partially present and the partially absent.
